Abstract
Objective To learn about the HIV/AIDS-related risk behavior and knowledge among the female sex workers(FSWs) in Jiangshui County for the evaluation of interventions to provide a basis for intervention. Methods Dual-stage probability sampling method(PPS) and the face-to-face survey questionnaire were applied, and 3-5ml blood was collected for HIV antibody testing and syphilis testing. Results The awareness rate of HIV/AIDS knowledge was 87.2%;the women using condom in last sex with clients accounted for 95.2%;43.2% women used condom when having sex with fixed partners each time;and the proportion of accepting at least one intervention in the past one year was 90.6%.Conclusion HIV/AIDS knowledge and behavior-change in FSWs have significant improvement, but the rate of using condom in each sex is relatively low, which suggests that interventions should focus on promoting the condom use in each sex.
