Analysis on Female's Status in Love and Matrimonial Life from Love and Marriage Poems in "The Book of Songs"

Abstract

There are large number of love and marriage poems in The Book of Songs.From one aspect,these poems reflect female's status in love and matrimonial life at that time.It can be seen that the social environments was comparably loose,so that female didn't have so many restrictions,and their individualities and affections were not inhibited heavily.They had comparatively vast breathing spaces,and could choose marriage partners freely and pursued love actively,boldly and freely.They also had higher status in matrimonial life.
