Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of cytokeration 19 (CK19) in bladder transitional cell carcinoma (TCC).Methods:The expression of CK19 was examined in 54 cases with TCC by immunohistochemical staining and computerized image analysis technology. The subjects were divided into two groups: recurrence group and non-recurrence group). The data from the two groups was compared with that from control group. Results:The expression of CK19 in three groups were (0.6459±0.05164),(0.6020±0.04902)and(0.5688±0.02475) respectively. The expression of CK19 in recurrent and non-recurrent group was significantly different from that in normal group(P0.01).Conclusions:The expression of CK19 correlated with biological behavior of TCC and may be useful in predicting tumor recurrence.
