Abstract

Xiangfan dialect belongs to the sub-dialect of Chinese northern dialects.It has similar features both to Zhongyuan Mandarin and Southwestern Mandarin.Xiangfan dialect has 21 initial consonants,so has the modern Mandarin dialect.The points of articulation and ways of pronunciation are also the same.Compared with Mandarin,Xiangfan dialect has eight characteristics.This paper mainly analyzes the corresponding law of initial consonants between Xiangfan dialect and Mandarin.
