Problems and Process Improvement of First Class Psychotropic Drugs Management in Psychiatric Outpatient Department of Our Hospital

OBJECTIVE:To standardize the management process of the first class psychotropic drugs(FSD) in psychiatric outpatient department in order to prevent drug abuse.METHODS:Referring to drug history management,special prescription prescribing,amount of prescription of FSD in psychiatric outpatient department,we improved the management process according to Management Regulations of Narcotic Drugs and First Class Psychotropic Drugs in Medical Institution,and Prescription Management Method.RESULTS CONCLUSIONS:Narcotic drugs and FSD database had been established to record patient's information.Nurses of outpatient department were in charge of relevant formalities,physicians in psychiatric department checked and prescribed drugs according to disease condition,and pharmacy department established special window to check whether drugs are rationally used or not in prescriptions prescribed by physicians.The new process shortens the time spent in non-medical issue for outpatient physicians and increases the qualification rate of prescription and patient satisfaction.The hospital also could keep completed patients' data and relevant documents.It also increases the quality and efficiency of FSD control.
