Abstract
Objective To evaluate MRI features of periventricular leukomalacia and the value of MRI in diagnosing periventricular leukomalacia. Methods MRI findings of 38 cases of periventricular leukomLacia in children confirmed by MRT and clinic were analyzed retrospectively. Results 29 cases were premature newborn babies and 9 cases were fullmature newborn with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.MRI showed that the periventricular white matter lesions appeared as long T1 and T2 signal intensity;the periventricular white matter decreased;the lateral ventricle were out of sharp and(or)enlarged in different degrees;Part of children with PVL may be associated with corpus callosum dysplasia. Conclusion MRI findings of periventricular leukomalacia have distinctive characteristics, which Can show clearly the degree and scope of PVL.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
