Abstract
The optimun technological conditions were studied on the synthesis of glycerol triacetate by the reaction of glacial acetic acid and glycerol with SnCl 4·5H 2O/C as catalyst. The results showed that the yield was over 96% when glycerol:glacial acetic acid=1∶4(molar ratio),the amount of catalyst was 1.5g/mol of glycerol, the amount of toluene was 25mL,and the reaction time was 5h.This process has many advantages such as higher yield, simple procedure, shorter reaction period, non corrosive, non pollution, etc.
