Critical Discourse Analysis in Translation Studies with Special Reference to Political Texts

Political texts(including texts created through translation) are closely related to power.In translation studies,there has been some research on the relationship between translated texts and power including ideology.However,no systematic and strictly text-based approaches have been developed for the description of political texts and their translation,which means that the research results cannot be compared and the description and analysis of the translation of political texts cannot be unified.This article argues that Critical Discourse Analysis may be used as a systematic tool for the description of the translation of political texts.
