Abstract
Huang Zong-xi’s argument of heavenly principles and human desires is the core of his thought and on this ground he forms his theory that consists of his viewpoints of king’s absolute ruling,rightness and profit and the studies of classics.However,despite the new elements he seems to have in his theory,Huang Zongxi is still an inheritor of Confucianism.It is the misunderstanding and one-sided views of his thoughts by his inheritors that lead to the misleading image of Huang Zongxi as a pragmatist and modern enlightener.
