Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of puerarin on the expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) on the myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) in rats. Methods I/R rat model was established by ligation of the anterior branch of the left coronary artery. The HSP70 expression in myocardium was detected by SP method of immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with control groups , the contents of HSP70 of group Puerarin were significantly increased at 0.5,4 and 8 h after I/R(P0.01). Puerarin can decrease the serum concentrations of MPO(P0.01) at 0.5,4 and 8 h after I/R. Conclusion Puerarin can reduce myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury significantly. The myocardial protection of puerarin may be realized by increasing the expression of HSP70 and reducing the serum concentrations of MPO.
