Abstract
Dihexyl sebacate was synthesized from sebacic acid and n-hexanol using S_2O_8~(2-)/TiO_2 solid superacid as the catalyst.Factors of influence on the reaction were investigated and optimal reaction condition was obtained as follows:0.05 mol sebacic acid,n-hexanol to sebacic acid mole ratio 2.4,mass of the catalyst 0.5 g,water-carrying agent cyclohexane 5 mL,reaction for 2.0 h.Esterification rate of 89.7% was attained under the optimal condition.
