Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL 1Ra) mRNA after cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats. Methods RT PCR was used to explore IL 1Ra mRNA expression in middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rat model. Results IL 1Ra mRNA expression was rapidly induced after 12 and 24 hours of MCAO reperfusion as compared with the normal control group( F=39.84, q=9.03, 15.91,P The expression of IL 1Ra mRNA after 12 hours of reperfusion in ischemic cortex increased markedly compared with the normal control( F=7.34, q=6.54, P 0.001). Conclusion Our results indicated that IL 1Ra mRNA may play an important role in the protection of ischemic brain damage.
