Abstract
The striking contributions of Deng Xiaoping to the socialist marktet economic theory is manifested in the following four aspects:establishing market economy is a category of a system;understanding the combination of market economy and socialist system;forming the notion of market economy as a stage of historical development;emphasizing the combination of market economic system and the Chinese characteristics,and the establishment of socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics.
