Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of serum cystatin C(Cys C) and serum creatinine concentration on cerebral infarction. Methods The 56 cases diagnosed cerebral infarction with CT and(or) MRI from June 2010 to October 2011 in our hospital were considered as the observation group,62 cases with normal physical examination at the same period were considered as the control group. The serum cystatin C and serum creatinine were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent method and creatinine picric acid method. The effects of serum cystatin C and serum creatinine levels on the cerebral infarction were compared between the two groups. Results The serum cystatin C level in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, serum creatinine level was significantly higher than that in the control group, the difference was significant between the two groups(P0.05);the correlation analysis showed that the serum cystatin C was negatively correlated with cerebral infarction(r=-0.238,P=0.002),serum creatinine was positively correlated with cerebral infarction(r=0.208,P=0.010).Conclusion Serum cystatin C and creatinine have closely related to the incidence of cerebral infarction, and the creatinine concentration increasing is a risk factor for the disease.
