Abstract

This paper analyses the present GIS data encoding and transfer methods on WebGIS,introduces GML and SVG to encoding and transferring the geospatial data, the advantage and shortcoming of each of them. After evaluation of these methods, then proposes a new method, that uses GML to transfer and storage geographic information and uses SVG to view the geographic informatioin. A method of transformation between them is also presented.
