Reinforce the management of prescriptions in out-patient and emergency and improve the level of clinical drug use

Objective To enhance the management of prescription,improve the quality of the prescriptions and the level of the rational drug use in outpatient and emergency department,ensure the security and rationality of drug use for patients.Methods A total of 6 934 prescriptions were selected randomly from April to September in 2009 for an analysis of drug use according to Prescription Administrative Policy.Results The average kinds of drug were 2.19 in each prescription,the average consumption sum for each prescription was 174.59 yuan,the use rate of injections and antibiotics were 38.51% and 41.65% respectively.The rate of rational prescriptions was 94.17%.Conclusion The drug use in the outpatient and emergency department in our hospital is rational basically.We should reinforce the management of prescriptions and further improve the level of clinical drug use.
