Abstract

The pretreatment methods of seven trace phenols in water and the conditions of using high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) were studied.Phenols in water can be preseparated and enriched by solid phase extraction with Waters Oasis HLB cartridge, and separated on an Agilent ZORBAX-C18 column. The linear gradient elution with acetonitrile and 0.1 mol/L phosphoric acid as mobile phase was performed with flow velocity of 1.5 mL/min.The various components were tested at their maximum UV absorption wavelength. The seven phenols were separated completely within 13 min.The method recoveries range from 80% to 104%,and the RSD are 2.4% to 8.5%.The lowest HPLC detection concentrations are 0.1 to 0.4 mg/L,and the method detection limits are 0.1 to 0.4 μg/L.
