Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and antimicrobial resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and observe the in vitro joint drug susceptibility so as to guide the reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS The samples were collected for the routine culture, the bacterial identification was performed by BD BBL CrystalTM,and the drug susceptibility testing of the bacteria was carried out through BioMerieux France API Medicine sensitive card.RESULTS Of 341 strains of P.aeruginosa isolated,56.0% were isolated from the sputum and mainly distributed in the ICU(26.4%) and respiratory medicine department(10.8%).Of 15 types of antibiotics tested, the drug susceptibility rate to ampicillin/sulbactam was the lowest(3.8%),polymyxin E the highest(94.7%).P.aeruginosa was also highly sensitive to imipenem and meropenem.Totally 44 strains of multidrug-resistant P.aeruginosa were detected from 341 strains of P.aeruginosa with the detection rate of 12.9%.CONCLUSION P.aeruginosa is still the main pathogen causing nosocomial infection and varies in drug resistance to most antibiotics. The hospital should strengthen the surveillance of drug resistance of P.aeruginosa and use antibiotics reasonably.
