Temperate Germplasm Improvement by Utilization of Tropical Materials

The current status and potential hazards of narrow germplasm available for maize breeding in temperate region were introduced and summarized,the characteristics of the germplasm from tropical region,the advantage and limitation using these kind of materials for the improvement of temperate stuff were reviewed.The main methods,useful practices and important achievements in the germplasm innovation and inbred lines development by(semi-)tropical germplasm in temperate maize growing area were also recommended.
