Abstract

Objective To analyze the results of cerebral angiography in patients of symptomatic lacunar infarction(LI)accompanied with cerebral artery stenosis. Methods A total of 51 patients with CT or MR diagnosed LI underwent cerebral angiography. The stenosis degree of vasculopathy and the collateral compensation to occlusive artery were analyzed. Results Cerebral angiography was performed successfully without serious complication on all the patients. The stenosis was ≤50% in 9 patients(17.65%),50%—70% in 12 patients(23.53%),71%—99% in 14 patients(27.45%),and total occlusion was detected in 16 patients(31.37%).Infarction correlated artery was found in 40 patients(78.43%),while collateral compensation was noticed in 12 patients. Conclusion Cerebral angiography has high positive rate in patients of symptomatic lacunar infarction accompanied with cerebral artery stenosis. The development of infarction is mainly caused by cerebral artery of anterior circulation system. It is very important to guide therapeutics strategy through observing the degree of vasculopathy and the formation of collateral compensation.
