Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of EGFR in lung squamous cell carcinoma and lung adenocarcinoma and its clinical significance. Methods The expression of EGFR was detected in 58 primary lung cancer tissues and 9 normal pulmonary tissues taken as the control by immunohistochemical method. Results The positive rate of EGFR expression was 63.79%(37/58) in lung cancer and 11.11%(1/9) in normal pulmonary tissues. There are significant difference of EGFR expression in lung cancer TNM classification and lymph node invasiveness. There are not significant difference of EGFR expression among patients with different ages, sexes, pathological kinds and smoking history(P0.05).Conclusion The positive EGFR expression in lung cancer has a shorter survival rate than that in negative EGFR expression group.EGFR might be a useful marker in the prognosis of lung cancer.
