Study on Influence of Buddhist Thought on Wang Wei's Poetry

The poetry of Wang Wei,a famous poet in the prosperous Tang Dynasty,was significantly influenced by Buddhist Thought,mainly from three distinct levels of world outlook,theory of temperament and meditation.The influence of Buddhist world outlook on Wang Wei's poetry was reflected in two ways.Firstly,recognition on the structure of the world formed inspiration and jumping poetry in Wang Wei's poems.Secondly,the thought of matter and emptiness in Buddhism influenced Wang Wei's thinking about life and other important questions.So,these kinds of contents in Wang Wei's poems were often expressed in artistic ways.The thought of external context was changed with mind in the Buddha Mind-Nature influenced greatly Wang Wei to depict natural scenery.The influence of meditation theory on Wang Wei's poetry mainly included two points:description of scenery acuteness and expression of principles thoroughly.
