Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of HSP70 and HSP27 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissues, and the relationship between HSP70,HSP27 and histological types, histopathological differentiation and lymph node metastasis. Methods SP immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expressions of HSP70 and HSP27 in NSCLC tissues. The results were analyzed in combination with the histological types, histopathological differentiation and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC.Results The expression of HSP70 and HSP27 was not correlated to the histologic types of NSCLC.The expression of HSP70 was significantly correlated to that of HSP27.Both the histopathological differentiation and metastasis were correlated to the expression of HSP70,however,not to the expression of HSP27.Conclusion The expression of HSP70 in NSCLC tissues was related to the differentiation and metastasis of cancer cells, and it could be used as a useful marker of a supplementary diagnosis and prognosis for patients with NSCLC.In contrast, the roles of HSP27 in NSCLC need to be further studied, although implicated in cellular processes potentially related to malignant transformation in many other human cancers.
