Abstract
Assessing the quality of soil environmental and formulating specific control measures at appropriate time is essential, since the soil environmental is of great importance for survival and development of human beings. There are now many methods to evaluate the soil quality, but both the accuracy and objectivity of them should be improved. The comprehensive identification index method has already been successfully adopted in the evaluation of river water quality,it not only gives the environmental quality level, but also makes clear the number of indexes exceeding the standards. Thus the method of comprehensive identification method is introduced to the soil environmental quality assessment in some areas. The results show that it agrees with more than two decisions made by other methods, indicating that is is of high reliability.
