Multi-slice Spiral CT Diagnosis and Its Clinical Significance for Mechanical Intestinal Obstruction

Objective To investigate the value and clinical significance of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT) in the diagnosis of mechanical intestinal obstruction.Methods From June 2008 to February 2011,58 patients with mechanical intestinal obstruction determined by surgery and pathology in our hospital were retrospected and their MSCT scan results were analyzed.Results 54 patient's MSCT results were consistent with surgery and pathology or follow-up examination after cure.Sensitivity and accuracy were 94.3%,91.3% and 93.1%,respectively.The main causes of intestinal obstruction included adhesions,intestinal cancer,volvulus,intussusception,stones and bezoars and so on.MSCT imaging performance had each characteristics associated with different causes of mechanical intestinal obstruction.Conclusion MSCT has important clinical significance for diagnosis and differential diagnosis of mechanical intestinal obstruction.
