Abstract
Objective:To discuss the effect of group counseling on the self-control of male drug addicts.Methods:90 male drug addicts who accepted group counseling were identified as test group,while other 97 male drug addicts who accepted no intervention as control group.Self Control Scale which developed by Qu Zhi-yong was used to assess the outcome.Results:The total scores in the test group drop from 52.06±6.67 before couseling to 47.68±8.67 after counseling.There were significant difference in scores of all dimensions except self emotion dimension before group counseling and after counseling,and the self-control ability of test group has been significant improved,compared with that of the control(P0.001) .Conclusion:Developing psychological group counseling in male drug addicts can significantly improve their self-control ability.
