ASSESSMENT OF CHINA'S COAL COMPETITIVENESS BASED ON POTTER'S DIAMOND MODEL

Abstract

The economic globalization leads to a reorganization and change in global coal industry in many aspects.There are many gaps in national level,industrial level and enterprise level in China's coal industry compared with those in the western developed countries.Potter regards that normal form is an ideal choice to analyze the coal industry's competitiveness by Diamond model.This paper,based on the systematical analysis on four aspects: the production,demands,relevant and auxiliary industries,the strategic structure of coal enterprise and competitors,reveals the present situation of China's coal industrial competitiveness and presents some feasible proposals in improving the competitiveness.
