Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between serum levels of interleukin(IL)-15,IL-18 and the prognosis of patients with acute pancreatitis. Methods Serum levels of IL-15,IL-18 were measured by ELISA assay in all patients with mild acute pancreatitis(MAP) or severe acute pancreatitis(SAP) on the 1th,7th,and 14th days compared with those from 30 healthy volunteers who acted as control. Results The serum levels of IL-15,IL-18 in MAP as well as in SAP patients were higher than those of healthy subjects.Furthermore, the serum levels of IL-15,IL-18 in patients with SAP were significantly higher than those of patients with MAP.Conclusion IL-15,IL-18 were all positively correlated with the severity of acute pancreatitis, those serum levels maybe acted as the markers to the severity of acute pancreatitis.
