Abstract
Objective To explore the influence of induced sputum sampling on the results of sputum bacterial culture examination among children suffering from lower respiratory tract infection.Methods Sputum specimens were collected from 328 children with lower respiratory tract infection.165 were randomized to collect induced sputum(experimental group) and 163 randomly assigned children collected the sputum with the traditional sputum collection technique(control group). The results of sputum bacterial culture examination in the two groups were compared. Results The rate of detection of bacteria of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group ( P0.005). Conclusion The induced sputum sampling can increase the rate of detection of bacteria and shorten the diagnosis time. It's worthy of clinic application.
