Chen Chi's Reformative View of Education

The focus attention to Chen Chi——a reformist thinker in modern society is usually on his political principles, economical principles and his life story while his educational principles are neglected more or less. As an important figure of innovation, Chen Chi claimed that education should insist on the eastern tradition while learning from Western countries. He put forward many propositions for practical education, beneficence education, women education and overseas Chinese education, which were appropriate to that times and contributed to the modernization of Chinese education.
