Abstract
Objective To determine the efficacy of α-lipoic acid unite mecobalamin on diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods One hundred twenty-two patients were randomly divide into observation group and control group. Patients in both group were treated with basic therapy of insulin and aspirin and improving circulation and so on. The he observation group were treated withα-lipoic acid and mecobalamin for two weeks, while the control group were treated with mecobalamin also for two weeks. Results The effective rates in observation group and control were 79.0% and 56.7%, showing significant difference between two groups(P0.05).The therapeutic effect and feeling nerve conduction velocity of two groups were significantly different in median nerve(P0.01). Conclusions α-lipoic acid and mecobalamin are effective in treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
