Abstract
Objective To study the value of measuring serum level of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)in paˉtients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods The serum levels of BNP were determined by enzyme_linked immunoabsorbent assay.Fifty_five patients with ACS were divided into acute myocardial infarction group(group AˉMI,25cases)and unstable angina group(group UA,30cases).BNP was measured and compared in55patients and30healthy controls within6hours and24hours after the onset of symptoms. Results Significantly abnormal concentrations of BNP were observed in group AMI[(60.10±17.10)ug/L and(154.00±18.60)ug/L(P0.01)]and group UA[(34.80±14.80)ug/L and(70.31±23.30)ug/L(P0.01)]compared with the controls [(10.60±1.70)ug/L and(10.54±1.80)ug/L] within6hours and24hours after the onset of symptoms.Conˉclusions These results suggested that BNP has a strong association with ACS and BNP can be used as a diagnostic parameter for early diagnosis.
