Abstract
Residence districts are the places of the residences in day life, they are the important traffic generating sources of a city. It is very important to construct a traffic impact evalution system based on GIS for analyzing the project's impact on the surrounding road network and determining the feasibility of the project are. In this paper, by analyzing the traffic characteristics of residential projects, the traffic demand forecast method of the residential traffic impact evaluation system was determined, and the working process and design features of the system were detailed. A quantitative evaluation of an actual project was carried out for the traffic impact degree, then the feasibility of the system was verified.
