Urban Residents' Expectations of Residence and Its Influence on Their Desire of Elderly Care

This study samples randomly eight hundred and thirteen residents from four cities in Jiangsu province,and takes visiting questionnaire to collect data.The relationship of residence arrangements and the support way of elderly care is used as analysis perspective,and individual characteristics,family's social economic status,structure of residence,and concepts of elderly care work as crucial independent variables.It illustrates that the urban residents' expectations of residence and their desire of elderly care at present situation,and then demonstrates the factors of influence on their choices.In a word,the result shows that the majority of urban residents hope to live with spouse(or alone),and depend on the social or self service.It probably comes to be the mainstream form of the urban residents at the age needing elderly care.
