Research on the elderly home care mode in the rural-urban continuum in Xiangshan County of Zhejiang Province

Objective The research took X,Y communities in Xiangshan County as the sample to analyze the present problems and shortcomings of elderly home care mode,and then proposed to promote the elderly home care mode.Methods The research selected 100 elderly people randomly,used the questionnaire and also interviewed with chiefs of communities and nursing homes.Results The elderly did not understand the home care mode completely.The endowment insurance rate among elderly was rather low.There were 38.71 percent of the elderly hold the opinion that they depend on children to take care of them,66.67 percent hoped that they could stay in their own home,66.44 percent hoped their children could visit them constantly.Conclusion The home care mode in the combination of urban and rural area have brazenly prospects.But the misunderstanding of the elderly home care and many difficult problems still existing in the implementation of elderly home care.
