Neo-Confucianism and Yanzhou’s Academies in the Song and Ming Dynasties

Abstract

In history,Neo-Confucianism was very popular in Yanzhou and it was mainly propagated in the academies.The close link between the development of Neo-Confucianism and that of the academies is reflected as follows: Neo-Confucians played an important role in the academies’ establishment and maintenance;what they taught there and the regulations of the academies were Neo-Confucianism based;the academies promoted the development of Neo-Confucianism.
