Abstract
Objective:To observe the characteristics of changes of event-related potential P300 in patients with simple leukoaraiosis (LA) and to explore the clinical value of P300. Methods: Thirty MRI confirmed LA patients (disease group, group D),and 30 healthy elderly people (control group, group C) were chosen, and their cognitive function was judged with MMSE scale form. Potential P300 of them was detected with instrument of EMG. Results: P3 wave area was significantly smaller in group D than that in group C (P0.05). Latencies of N1,P2,N2,and P3 were longer in group D than those in group C,but the differences were not significant (P0.05);Amplitudes of N1,P2,and N2 were longer in group D than those in group C,but the differences were not significant (P0.05);The amplitude of P3 was significantly lower in group D than in group C (P0.05). The abnormity rate of P300 in group D (30%) was obviously different from that of group C. (P0.05). Conclusion: The examination results of P300 can be used as one of indicators for cognitive function judgement in LA patients.
