Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical effect and adverse reaction of integrative therapy of Chinese and Western medicine in treating vitiligo due to syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis. Methods: 116 patients with vitiligo due to syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group. The patients in the control group were given tacrolimus for external application, while the ones in the treatment group were added Chinese medicine decoction for oral administration. Both with 3 months as a course, then the clinical effect, changes of skin lesion area before and after the treatment and adverse reaction were observed. Results: The effective rate of the treatment group was 89. 66%,while that of the control group was 68. 9%,and there was significant difference between them( P 0. 05); The lesion area of the treatment group after the treatment( 23. 59 ± 19. 12) cm3 was obviously smaller than that before the treatment( 53. 65 ± 21. 08) cm3,and there was significant difference between them( P 0. 05); After the treatment,The lesion area of the treatment group( 23. 59 ± 19. 12)cm3 was obviously smaller than that of the control group( 39. 69 ± 17. 25) cm3,and there was significant difference between them( P 0. 05); The difference of both groups in adverse reaction had no statistical meaning( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Integrative therapy of Chinese and Western medicine has good curative effect on vitiligo due to syndrome of qi stagnation and blood stasis in reducing patients' skin lesion area with no clear adverse reaction.
