Abstract

Using ascorbic acid as reductant and sodium dodecyl sulfate as surfactant, the spherical silver nano-particles was prepared by reducing the silver nitrate solution through chemical reduction under agitation at different temperatures. The effect of reaction temperature, concentration of silver nitrate and concentration of reductant on diameter of silver nano-particles are investigated by ultraviolet spectrophotometer. The crystal form of silver nano-particles was observed by XRD and the surface texture and the range of particle size of silver nano-particles were observed by SEM.The optimum preparation conditions for silver nano-particles were determined as the concentration of silver nitrate of 0.08 mol/L,the concentration of ascorbic acid was 0.1 mol/L and temperature was 20 ℃.The silver nano-particles synthesized under the optimum preparation conditions was pure and uniform, its average particle size was 30 nm.
