Study of Occlusal Reconstruction for Dentition Defect with Severe Occlusal Wear

Objevtive: To explore the clinical effect of occlusal reconstruction.Through a study of patients with dentition defect and severe oclclusal wear.Methods: A total of 48 patients with dentition defect and severe occlusal wear were treated by occlusal reconstruction.According to different types of dentition defect,we made study models before and after occlusal reconstruction,followed up the patients for 6 months to 5 years and investigated the effects.Results: After occlusal reconstruction,patients' facial appearance,masticatory function and pronunciation were significantly improved;the lower facial 1/3 vertical height and occlusal height were all properly recovered.Conclusion: Occlusal reconstruction is an effective and reliable way for dentition defect with severe occlusal wear.
