Abstract
The aggregation of polyethylene is studied under the various heat treatment. There is some difference in water absorbing and water treeing of the experiment polyethylene. The water absorbing in polyethylene with a quick cooling rate is bigger and the water treeing is easy to form than that in polyethylene with a slow cooling rate. In an addition, the accumulation of space charge in pure polyethylene is more than that in modified polyethylene. Adding the ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer (EAA) and sorbital in pure polyethylene inhibit the space charge. There is apparent effect of various heat treatments on polyethylene properties. These results were explained based on the different process of crystal and structure.
