Abstract
The volatile constituents of leaves from pinus massoniana lamb needles and pinus elliottii engelm needles, including oil fraction and water-soluble fraction, were extracted and determined in this paper.Oil fraction of volatile components was obtained through steam distillation. In order to know the quantity and constituents of volatile compounds dissolved in the water phase, ether was used as a solvent to extract the water-soluble fraction of the volatile compounds. Both oil fraction and water-soluble fraction were analyzed by gas-chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results reveal that the essential oil compositions of oil fraction and water-soluble fraction from pinus massoniana lamb needles were similar but the contents of some compounds differed greatly. While the essential oils compositions of oil fraction and water-soluble fraction for pinus elliottii engelm Needles were different greatly. As the extraction of the water-soluble fraction of the volatile compounds, the total yield of oil from pinus massoniana lamb needles and pinus elliottii engelm needles reach 0.4709% and 0.3452% respectively, the rising rates were 19.17% and 24.62% successively. The compositions of the essential oils from needles of pinus massoniana lamb needles and pinus elliottii engelm needles were similar but their contents of some compounds differed greatly.Mono-and sesquiterpenes were the main compositions of the essential oils from pinus massoniana lamb needles and pinus elliottii engelm needles.
