Abstract

Objective To investigate the dynamic changes of the soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1)and the soluble interleukin-6(IL-6)in acute cerebral infarction(ACI) and its clinical significance. Methods A retrospective case-control study was carried out,in which 100 patients with the diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction,as well as 30 control patients were studied. The levels of serum sICAM-1 and IL-6 of all the ACI patients were measured using two-layer antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay(ELISA) on the 1st day,3rd day,5th day,10th day after onset respectively;anther 30 healthy subjects were as control group. Results The levels of serum sICAM-1 and IL-6 in ACI group on the 1st day after onset were significantly higher than those in the controls(P0.01);the levels of serum sICAM-1 and IL-6 in the patients with large volume of cerebral infarction were increased significantly compared with those in patients with medium or small volume infarction(P0.01);the levels of serum sIcam-1 and IL-6 in Alleviates the time were significantly higher than those in the controls(P0.01).Conclusions These findings indicate that the levels of serum sICAM-1and IL-6 in ACI patients increase, the larger volume of cerebral infarction, the higher of those levels;the levels of serum sICAM-1and IL-6 probably are the risk factor of cerebral infarction.
