Abstract
Nearly 40% of the Nineteen Old Songs are narrations about short and bitter life and about enjoying life as much as possible. Those poems contain a decadence ideology based on life philosophy and life methodology and, together with late-Han folksongs, formed a universal decadence ideology.Their melancholy expression made them more attractive in both thought and art,and their decadence paved the way for poetic renovation and creation, contributing to the Jian-an style in literature and Wei-Jin philosophy. The late-Han decadence poetry is also significant in decadence literature in the whole world.
