Medical records were reviewed retrospectively. Results 235 cases among 390 patients had infectious diseases, 51 cases and 45cases of 390 had neoplasm and collagen vascular diseases. History physical examination and routine laboratory studies led to a final diagnosis in 41% of all cases. Ultrasonography, CT scan, bone marrow examination and biopsy contributed to the diagnosis in 3.9%, 3.8%, 8.9% and 70% of the cases, separately. Conclusions Infectious disease, collagen vascular disease and neoplasm were the major cause of FUO.
