Abstract
Objective To evaluate the impact of psychological intervention on perioperative anxiety of school age children. Methods Fifty-five ASAⅠchildren were randomly divided into intervention group(28 children) and control group(27 children).Children in control group reveived routine preoperative preparation,routine preopearive interview,no special psychological intervention during the opeartion and routine postoperative visit.Children in intervention group received nursing intervention programme,i.e.diversified psychological intervention,including combination of psychology, cognition,and emotion.The anxiety levels were evaluated by MYPAS(modified Yale preoperative anxiety scale) at 4 time points:day before operation,the time entering operating room,time of venipuncture,24 hours after operation.Results The children's anxiety levels in control group were significantly higher than those in the intervention group.Conclusion Psychological intervention could lower the anxiety level and improve the perioperative safety of pediatric patients.
