Abstract

Objective:To investigate the cardiac function improvement and ventricular remodeling process with carvedilol therapy in congestive heart failure (CHF).Methods:In 60 patients with CHF,the ejection fraction was ≤0.45.On a baseline therapy including digitalis, diuretics and ACEI,the patients were divided randomly into carvedilol group and control group for a 6 month follow up period. The data of ventricular function were measured by echocar diography at baseline,3 and 6 months after admission. Results:In carvedilol group NYHA class improved,as reflected by the increcsed left ventricular ejection fraction (49.1±8.1) vs (39.2±11.0) as in the control group ( P 0.05).Conclusion:Based on the medication of digitalis, diuretics and ACEI,cavedilol therapy can improved left ventricular performance, reverse LV remodeling in patients of CHF and also improve the biological properties of HF.
