Abstract
[Objective] To observe the effect of baicalin on the expression of adhesion molecules on human endothelial cells induced by chlamydia pneumonias (CP). [Methods] In-vitro cultured endothelial cells of umbilical veins (ECV-304) are cultured in 24-well culture plate (4 wells for a group). When a cell monolayer formed, CP or CP + baicalin (0.4, 0.2, 0. 1g/L) was added to stimulate ECV-304. The wells without adding agents served as normal group. After 5 days of culture, the expression of tumor necrosis factor a ( TNF-α), intercellular adhesion molecule CD54 and inlervaseular adhesion molecule CD 106 on cell surface were detected in the cultured supernatants. [Results] The level of TNF-a and the expression of CD54 and GD106 in ECV-304 were increased after the stimulation of CP. Baicalin in different doses could lower the level of TNF-α, and the high-dose baicalin could inhibit the expression of CD54 and CD106. [Conclusion] Baicalin has an inhibitory effect on the inflammation of human endothelial cells stimulated by CP.
