Abstract

Objective: To analyze the features of atypical hepatic abscess(AHA), with emphasis on the enhanced CT appearances. Methods: Retrospectively reviewed the plain and enhanced CT scan data of totally 14 AHA, which were proved either by surgical and pathological finding or by abscess drainage. Results:In plain CT scan . the abscesses usually exhibited as hypodense nass, and on enhanced CT scan following Special signs could be seen: parenchyma filling sign, honeyconb sign, rings inside rings sign, transient enhanced sign. Conclusion:The plain CT appearance of AHA is nonspecific, The enhanced CT and the dynaaic enhanced CT, have soae characteristics so the diagnosis of AHA could be inproved.
