Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes of the upper airway in skelet classⅡ malocclusion. Methods The 16 boys and 20 girls with skelet class Ⅱ malocclusion were induded and 17 boys and 21 girls with nomal occlusion served as coutrol.Cephalometric radiographs were taken for the recording of skeletal, the upper airway and hyoid bone variables. Results The oropharynx airway of skelet classⅡ malocclusion were significantly smaller than that of normal occlusion. The position of hyoid bone of skelet classⅡ malocclusion was significantly lower and posterior than that of normal occlusion. Conclusion The oropharynx airway of skelet class Ⅱ malocclusion children becomes narrow.
